Weston Favell Academy

Sixth Form

We are very proud of the success of our Sixth Form students here at Weston Favell Academy. We welcome your interest in finding out about our provision, our students' experiences and the core values which underpin the Sixth Form offer here.

Academically, we were recently graded as ALPS 'Very Good', one grade away from 'Outstanding'.  The Advanced Level Performance System is used nationwide, and by OFSTED, as a measure of students' progress in their KS5 courses.  We have built on this success and we were delighted to see in 2020 that our students out-performed their target grades, with a higher than ever set of A* to B grades.

This academic success supports our students' outstanding progression from Sixth Form to Russell Group universities and niche courses across the length and breadth of the country: our students are ambitious and adventurous.  We also support students to access advanced and graduate level apprenticeships: students have join the Graduate Apprenticeship schemes including DHL and Northamptonshire Police.  A core responsibility of any Sixth Form is to ensure that students really do know how to make wise and informed decisions about their future and we are committed to this.

However, in addition to carefully supporting students in terms of both their academic excellence and future career planning, we believe that the personal development of our students is paramount. Our students are successful because of the ethos and core values we promote:

  • student-centred rigour: each student's individual potential explored, and supported, to a point beyond their own expectations.
  • student well-being, equality and diversity: not a paper commitment, but student-led, active promotion of these central tenets of 21st century life.
  • students as global citizens of the future: supporting students to develop the highest aspirations while understanding their responsibilities to themselves and to others.

We are a transforming Sixth Form: our students, our parents and our Alumni tell us so.  Do come and see for yourself. We very much look forward to welcoming you.
