Weston Favell Academy

Meet the Team

Melissa Ryder Wolf - Careers Lead

I first came to Weston Favell Academy in 2016 as a PE and Psychology teacher. I became Careers Lead in 2018 where I completed the Teach First Careers and Employability Accreditation. My role along with the rest of the team, is to ensure pupils have a wide range of career experiences throughout their time at Weston Favell. This is to enhance their knowledge and help them on their journey to decide on what pathways they would like to take when they leave us. I feel proud to work with such inspiring young people and help guide and shape their future to enable them to move onto a suitable destination.

Nikki Corben- Careers Advisor

I left school after year 11 to start an apprenticeship. I didn't settle and had a variety of different jobs in various career sectors.  I then started working for a careers service in an administration and then employment adviser role, undertaking further apprenticeships.  Deciding this was the career route for me, I was sponsored by the company to study at Nottingham Trent University full time for the Diploma in Professional Studies and the Level 6 Diploma in Careers Advice and Guidance.

My role at Weston Favell Academy, mainly through 1-1 advice and guidance discussions, is to support students to explore future options and career opportunities. I use a holistic approach, working with students to overcome any barriers or worries regarding their next step.  It is a privilege to work at Weston Favell Academy with such an inspiring group of students as they move towards adulthood.
