Welcome from Mr Johnson

Moving to secondary school is a really exciting time, but we know it can be a scary time too! At Weston Favell Academy we are experts in making your transition smooth and, most of all, enjoyable! When you come and visit us, we can show you our extensive facilities which include the Astro pitch, the swimming pool, specialist design technology labs and our performing arts studios.

In addition, you will get to speak to the experts at Weston Favell who come in 2 forms – our staff and our students.

The staff at Weston Favell Academy have a united approach to education and do everything within their power to remove barriers to success, ensure there is no ceiling to achievement and engender a culture where excuses for underperformance do not exist. To compliment this our fantastic students always work to support the staff and become rounded, responsible citizens for the future.

We can’t wait to welcome you on Thursday 7th October where you have the chance to see us in action and we encourage you to ask as many questions as you want because we know choosing a secondary school is a big decision although I am confident that Weston Favell will become a firm favourite.

See you soon!

Welcome from Mr Harrison, Head of Year 7

Welcome prospective students and parents to Weston Favell Academy.

We have an experienced team of tutors to ensure the smooth transition for your child into the Academy, making sure they feel content, confident, settled and reassured.

We will personally strive to make sure that every child excels during their first year at Weston Favell Academy and will do our utmost to make the experience as positive and memorable as possible.  Not only will the beginning of Year 7 be a very exciting new adventure, albeit a little daunting, it will also be a ‘fresh start’ and a chance for your child to make a positive first impression within the Weston Favell Academy family.

Supportive form tutors will endeavour to make your child feel safe as they establish new friendship groups across the year group. We offer an extensive range of extra-curricular clubs, activities and events available over the course of the year. Our pastoral team will nurture your child and be on hand to resolve any issues or problems that may arise during this very important time in their life.

The academy will have high expectations of this year group and will challenge them to be the best year group in the school. This includes attendance, behaviour for learning and their progress.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions or queries.

Uniform

We believe that wearing our distinctive uniform gives our pupils a sense of 'belonging', helps foster pride in themselves and the academy and removes issues arising from peer pressure or inequity.

All pupils are expected to wear the full uniform correctly and we would urge you to read the details carefully.  Elements of our uniform are widely available and inexpensive, but items such as the academy tie, jumper, blazer and PE top will need to be specially ordered.

Click here to follow the link for full details of the academy uniform and how to order from our suppliers, Nationwide School Uniforms.
